TRAFFIC RULES IN ITALY

It would be a pity if your trip to Italy for the San Marino MotoGP race would come with a fine. Check out our tips on how to enjoy the MotoGP race in Misano without extra costs.

SPEED LIMITS

Highways: 130 km/h (reduced to 110 km/h in poor weather conditions)
Roads: 90 km/h
Cities: 50 km/h

SEAT BELTS

Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers. Children under 12 or shorter than 1.5 metres (4'9") must use appropriate child seats or booster seats.

ALCOHOL LIMITS

The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.05% for regular drivers. For drivers with less than three years of experience and professional drivers, the limit is 0.00%.

PHONE USE

Using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited unless using a hands-free device.

RIGHT OF WAY

Vehicles approaching from the right have the right of way unless otherwise indicated. Pedestrians at zebra crossings have the right of way.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND SIGNS

Traffic lights and road signs must be strictly adhered to. A flashing yellow light indicates caution, and you must proceed carefully.

PARKING

Park only in designated areas. Blue lines indicate paid parking, white lines are free parking, and yellow lines are reserved for specific users. Always display a parking disc or ticket where required.

TOLLS

Highways (Autostrade) are often tolled. Collect a ticket when entering and pay upon exiting based on the distance travelled.
